Horse Owners
As the Website progresses, this page will be
continually updated with useful information from our farriers for horse
owners.
How well is your horse being shod?
Is your horse being cared for by a "trade
recognised" farrier?
If not maybe it's time to do some homework!
Wouldn't it be nice to know that the person charging you a professional rate
for the hoof care he/she is providing is entitled to do so?

As a horse owner you invest a great deal of time and money in your loyal
friend, so wouldn't it be wise to seek professionals who will hold your
horse in the same regard that you do?
This is where the Professional Farriers association comes in.
The association prides itself on teaching the skills that are important to
the wellbeing of the horse.
All of our association members are graded to give you the ability to assess
your own farrier requirements. It is important to be happy and confident
with both the service and the professional you are employing.

Once you have selected the appropriate farrier for your circumstances, here
are some guidelines that the farrier may expect from you as the
client:
1. A clean
level working area free from hazardous objects,
Preferably with some shade provided
2. Have your horse pre-caught, so as to save your farrier some valuable time
3. Inform your farrier if your horse has any vices
Don't forget to ask your farrier about any questions you may have.
